How Tooling Trader Works

Tooling Trader provides an online marketplace for Manufacturers, Distributors, and End Users to Buy and Sell new surplus tooling discounted up to 20-80% from the Original List Prices.

The process begins by signing up to Toolingtrader as a buyer or a seller, or both if you plan on getting the best from

If you have not yet signed up for an account, simply visit the Login/Register page. On the left side you will see a description of Buyer and Seller accounts. Simply choose thew appropriate button at the bottom to sign up. You will then fill out a brief form.

NOTE: there are separate login pages for Buyer and Seller accounts.

If you have signed up as a buyer, the process is very simple. Since we have your information from registration, you login to your buyer account and browse tooling categories and products, or use the search feature to find exactly what you are looking for. Once you have found the item(s) you would like to buy, simply add them to your cart. When you are done shopping, click on the 'Check Out' link at the top of the web site. This will take you to's secure payment gateway. Once in this area all tooling will be totaled, along with a 10% transaction fee and any shipping charges that may apply if the seller has not agreed to pay shipping. Once payment has been completed, you will receive an email regarding your purchase and all of the items you have ordered. That's it! now the only process remaining is to receive your shipment.

If you have signed up as a seller, your account will be reviewed and approved within 48 hours. There's no doubt that you want to get your products on the site as soon as you can, but there are a couple of steps you should observe to make sure your tooling is properly placed for sale in order to ensure the best possible positioning for sale. After you have been approved, log in to your seller account and take a look around. There are several ways to add products and manage them as well.

While you are in the ToolingTrader Control System, click on 'Products Edit', then select the type of product you'd like to add from the pull-down menu, and click 'add new product'. Simply fill out the product name, SKU, Description, Quantity, Price, and other applicable fields. Upload any product photography you want to use, and you're done.

Also in the Control System, you will have access to your Seller Profile (Settings menu). You will have the ability to edit payment, shipping, and contact information, as well as any other information pertaining to your ToolingTrader account.

Once one or more of your items have been you sold, you will be notified via email automatically. Profit from the sold tooling will be processed by, and sent to your PayPal account less the 10% transaction fee within 12-48 hours.
